Can I install a SNOWSPORT® Utility Plow myself?

Installation is simple and the instructions are clear-cut. The blade and push frame for all plows should assemble in a little over an hour. To install the front receiver hitch for the SNOWSPORT® HD Utility Plow or the SNOWSPORT® LT Utility Plow, plan an additional 30-60 minutes depending on your level of experience. From there the blade attaches in minutes. If you do need assistance, call 1-800-689-6612 between 8:00am – 5:00pm CST.

Does the blade need to be painted to stay looking good?

The blade is made of clear anodized, hardened extruded aluminum. The blade is rust resistant and will not need to be painted.

How can a SNOWSPORT® Utility Plow operate without hydraulics?

The SNOWSPORT® Utility Plow uses a transmission activated design. With the blade in the plowing position, simply drive forward to activate the blade. The push frame allows the blade to slide up and down with the terrain. The rubber cutting edge is designed to cut through the snow but pass over the harder ground surfaces below while being gentle on your grass. Back up and the blade lies back, skimming over the surface. To automatically re-engage the blade for another pass simply drive forward again.

How do you switch from transporting to plowing or from plowing to transporting?

To switch the plow from the transporting position to the plowing position simply remove the locking pins at the top of the push frame. Manually lift the blade, one side at a time, out of the notches at the top of the push frame, and lower the blade down the push frame rails. Reinsert the locking pins. When you are done plowing simply reverse the process.

How easy is the snow plow to hook up or un-hook between jobs??

The plow is designed to easily attach to your vehicle. Just insert the push frame into the front/rear receiver hitch and secure with the hitch pin. Then hang the blade, one end at a time, onto the push frame and secure the blade with locking pins. This process can be done in less than a minute. Unhooking the plow from the vehicle is just as easy, simply reverse the process.

How much does the plow weigh?

The SNOWSPORT® HD Utility Plow's 96" blade is 129 lbs. The HD plow's 84" blade is 114 lbs. Both the SNOWSPORT® LT Utility Plow and the SNOWSPORT® 180 Utility Plow 82" blades are 68 lbs.

How well does the rubber cutting edge hold up?

The rubber cutting edge is 1" thick, 6" tall and is made of a durable rubber compound that has a life expectancy of 10+ years.

What does "fascia trimming may be required" mean?

Some front mounts may require fascia trimming. What this entails is that the front receiver portion of the mount may interfere with the lower air dam of the vehicles bumper. Fascia trimming is required when this is the case. It requires a notch being cut into the lower air dam.
